  • Eastlea Prepares for Launch


    Eastlea School in London Borough of Newham is all set for the big launch of Mission X on Tuesday, February 7th. Eastlea hosted Richard Garriott during a visit just before Christmas. More space visitors are planned for the launch - with Jeremy Curtis and Hannah Wright from the UK Space Agency visiting during the day to see students in action.

  • Take Off!

    The teams at St Ninian's got off to a flying start this week and there was great excitement about the start of our Astronaut training program. All groups worked hard and there were a few complaints of sore arms and legs the day after our first 'Crew Strength Training exercise'.

    Looking forward to our next challenge.

    Bridget the Mars Rover is getting ready to visit Malvern St. James School to help launch Mission X in Worcestershire. You can download a model of the Mars Rover on http://www.esero.org.uk/news/mars-explorer-challenge. Bridget might be missing the sunshine in Tenerife where she recently took part in field trials. We are expecting some snow in the UK over the weekend so hopefully this won't affect her travel plans.

  • Bracing for Mission X Launch

    Getting Ready for Lunch - Out of this World Learning at Mountfitchet Mathematics

    Rocket scientist Jon London from Out of This World Learning helped launch Mission X at Mounfitchet Mathematics and Computing College on Friday January 27th 2012. Students from Bentfield, Katherine Semar, Henham and Ugley and St. Mary's Primary School all had a go at making and launching rockets as one of the activities. Mission Controller was Science Leader - Mrs Charmain Dunham.
