In the microgravity environment of the International Space Station astronauts can perform spectacular rolls. Here on Earth, because of gravity these rolls are not as easy. We imitated astronauts being upside down and made our own body roll.
Can we design a robotic arm to perform specific tasks?
In this section, the students made a robotic arm with hinges that they could use to grab items from a distance. They realised that some slippery surfaces could not be lifted up but that by adding a gripping surface (sponges) to the arm this would enable them to be lifted.
