Ruimterollen/ RollNRoll

Vandaag mochten we dan eindelijk rollen als een astronaut. Het zweven ontbrak helaas, maar het maken van koprollen gaf een klein beetje het idee van het gevoel dat rollen in de ruimte moet geven. Een aantal van de Optinauten konden al heel goed (kop)rollen en gingen snel voor de extra uitdaging en rolden door een hoepel. Voor anderen was het een hele overwinning om zelf een goede koprol te maken. Uiteindelijk waren we allemaal erg trots dat we ook deze missie hebben voltooid.

We begrijpen nu wel erg goed dat Andre Kuipers het zweven en rollen heel erg mist.

Not only did we take part in the crew assembly activity on Wednesday we also took part in the activity "Speed of Light".
Another super activity that tested our hand-eye co-ordination. It was fun to see that some of us were much better than our teachers, who also tried this.

Wednesday we started off with our very first activity in Mission X. Lots of kids laughed and felt this task would be incredibly easy. How wrong they were. We learned that touch is an important sense and because of the two pairs of gloves we couldn't hold on to the puzzle pieces very well. We also improved our communication skills, vital of course if you are reliant on each other.
We loved it so much that on Thursday we did this activity again now in the classroom instead of in the gym.

Groups 4/5 of the Blijberg International Department aka team learning stars were invited Monday to travel to ESA (European Space Agency) in Noordwijk to attend the international opening of Mission X- Train like an Astronaut.
We got to meet Dutch astronaut Andre Kuipers who showed us a fabulous 3-d movie about his PromISSe mission in the International Space Station last year.
During the live webcast of the event Francois, Jenny and Dong Hwi got the opportunity to ask him questions.
Afterwards we were given signed autographs and an ESA badge.
It was an inspiring opportunity for our children to find out more about the life of an astronaut and how important a healthy diet and excercise is.

Vandaag hebben we in de klas de opdracht crewassembly voltooid! Dit was een extra moeilijke opdracht aangezien we hiervoor moesten samenwerken. De puzzel leek zo makkelijk met zijn 35 stukjes maar met twee paar handschoenen aan was hij toch een stuk moeilijker dan gedacht. Toch is het elk team gelukt om de missie te voltooien, wel allemaal met zweethanden!

Today we completed the crewassembly mission. This was a difficult mission since we had to work together as teams. The puzzle 'only' had 35 pieces but proved to be more difficult when wearing two pairs of gloves. Each team managed to complete the puzzle, all with sweaty hands though!
