Space Robots
Your mission: Learn all about robotic arms near the ISS and design your own robotic arm
This resource was created by Space Expo, Netherlands 2025

Robots are increasingly used to take over tasks from humans—especially those that are tedious, dangerous, or time-consuming, which is particularly relevant in space. By performing these tasks, robots allow astronauts to focus on scientific experiments. A key example is the European Robotic Arm (ERA) on the ISS, developed with significant Dutch contributions from Airbus and TNO.
